Lee: Romanos 3:23; Romanos 6:23
Lee: Juan 3:16; 1 Corintios 15:3–4; Efesios 2:8–9

Bible reading: John 3:16–17; Romans 3:23
Following Jesus begins when we recognize our sin and trust in God’s love revealed in Christ. Jesus died and rose again to reconcile us to God and give us eternal life. Saying yes to Him does not mean knowing everything; it means beginning a life of trust and discipleship.
Read John 3:16–17 slowly and write down one truth this passage teaches you about God’s love.
Lord, thank You for loving me and sending Jesus. Help me trust Him and learn to follow His steps. Amen.
Bible reading: 1 John 2:2, 5–6
Salvation begins a new life. God works in us and also calls us to grow, learn, and obey. Transformation is a lifelong process. When we fail, we turn to God in repentance and keep moving forward by His grace.
Ask God to show you one specific step of obedience for today, and seek to put it into practice.
Father, keep shaping my life so that it reflects Jesus. Give me humility to learn and perseverance to grow. Amen.
Bible reading: John 1:1–14; Matthew 28:19
The Bible reveals one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus reveals who God is and opens the way for us to come to the Father. Knowing God is more than learning facts about Him; it means trusting Him and living in relationship with Him.
Read John 1:1–14 and note what the passage says about Jesus Christ.
My God, help me know You according to Your Word and grow in my relationship with You. Amen.
Bible reading: John 14:16–17, 26; John 16:7
Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit would be with His people and dwell in them. The Spirit comforts, teaches, reminds us of Jesus’ words, and guides us in truth. We should test our thoughts and decisions by Scripture rather than treating every feeling as a message from God.
Read John 14:26 and identify one teaching of Jesus you need to remember today.
Holy Spirit, help me understand God’s Word and follow the truth Jesus taught. Amen.
Bible reading: Hebrews 10:24–25; Psalm 119:105
We grow in knowing God through prayer, reading the Bible, and gathering with other followers of Jesus. Prayer brings our concerns and gratitude before God; Scripture reveals His character and will; Christian fellowship encourages us to love and serve faithfully.
Choose a regular time to read Scripture and make a plan to attend a Bible-believing local church.
Lord, teach me to seek You through Your Word, prayer, and fellowship with Your people. Amen.
Bible reading: Matthew 22:37–40; Philippians 1:6
A disciple is a learner who follows Jesus. Christian growth does not happen all at once; it is a lifelong process in which God works in us and we respond through faith and obedience. Our goal is to love God wholeheartedly and love our neighbors as ourselves.
Choose one practical way to love God or serve another person today.
God, keep forming me into the likeness of Jesus. Help me love You and my neighbor more faithfully. Amen.
Bible reading: 2 Timothy 3:16–17; Matthew 22:37–40
The Bible is God’s Word and equips His people for every good work. Read each passage in context: consider who wrote it, to whom, and what the surrounding verses teach. Ask how the passage reveals God and how its truth should shape your faith and conduct.
Read a short passage twice. Write down its main idea and one way to obey it.
Lord, give me understanding as I read Your Word. Help me believe it, obey it, and love others through it. Amen.
Bible reading: Luke 6:12–13; Matthew 6:9–13
Prayer is honest communication with God, not a performance to impress people. Jesus prayed regularly, alone and with others, seeking strength and direction. We can praise God, confess sin, give thanks, ask for help, and pray for the needs of others.
Set aside a few quiet minutes to praise God, give thanks, confess, and ask for help.
Father, teach me to pray sincerely and consistently. Help me trust Your wisdom and care. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Bible reading: John 15:12–15; Hebrews 10:24–25
God did not intend for Christians to live in isolation. Faithful friends can encourage us, pray with us, help us through hardship, and celebrate joys. We should seek relationships that strengthen our walk with Christ and also become dependable, loving friends to others.
Contact a fellow believer, ask how they are doing, and pray for them.
Lord, thank You for the people You place in my life. Help me be a faithful and encouraging friend. Amen.
Bible reading: Psalm 113:5–8; Romans 12:1
Worship is more than singing. It is responding to God’s character and works with reverence, gratitude, obedience, and praise. We worship together with the church and throughout daily life when we honor God in our choices and offer ourselves to Him.
Thank God for three specific things and choose one way to honor Him today.
Lord, You are worthy of my praise. Let my words, decisions, and actions honor You. Amen.
Bible reading: 1 Corinthians 10:13; Psalm 119:9–11
Temptation is not the same as sin, but giving in can lead us away from God’s will. Jesus answered temptation with Scripture and remained faithful to His calling. We can prepare by learning God’s Word, praying, avoiding situations that encourage sin, and seeking wise help from trusted believers.
Memorize or write down 1 Corinthians 10:13 and identify one boundary that will help you resist temptation.
God, help me recognize temptation and choose the way of faithfulness You provide. Amen.
Bible reading: Luke 5:15–16; Mark 6:31
Jesus sometimes withdrew from the crowds to pray and rest. Rest reminds us that we are creatures with limits and that God remains in control when we stop working. Wise rest is not laziness; it helps us serve faithfully without making busyness our master.
Plan a short period of rest today and use it to renew your attention to God.
Lord, help me work faithfully and rest wisely, trusting that You remain in control. Amen.
Bible reading: Luke 9:46–48; John 13:14–15
Jesus showed greatness through humility and service, not by seeking status. He welcomed people, cared for their needs, forgave, gave generously, and spoke truth. Following Him means learning to place the good of others ahead of selfish ambition.
Do one helpful act for someone without seeking attention or praise.
Jesus, teach me to love with humility and serve others as You served. Amen.
Bible reading: Luke 8:1–3; Romans 15:7
Jesus welcomed people from different backgrounds and treated them with dignity. Christian hospitality means helping others feel seen, respected, and included. It can begin with listening, offering practical help, and making room for people who might otherwise feel overlooked.
Greet someone intentionally, listen without rushing, and look for a way to make them feel welcome.
Lord, help me welcome others with the same grace and care that You have shown me. Amen.
Bible reading: Luke 3:11; 2 Corinthians 9:7
Generosity includes more than money. We can share our time, skills, possessions, attention, and encouragement. Everything we have is entrusted to us by God, so we should consider what we truly need, what we can share, and what needs exist around us.
Choose one resource—time, skill, money, or encouragement—and use it to bless someone.
Father, make me grateful and generous. Help me share what You have entrusted to me with wisdom and love. Amen.
Bible reading: John 13:14–17; Philippians 2:3–4
Jesus noticed people’s needs and served them with humility. We follow His example when we pay attention, offer practical help, and use our abilities and resources for the good of others. We may not solve every problem, but we can serve faithfully and ask God for wisdom.
Notice one practical need today and take a realistic step to help meet it.
Lord, open my eyes to the needs around me and make me willing to serve. Amen.
Bible reading: Luke 23:34; Ephesians 4:32
God offers forgiveness through Jesus, not because we have earned it but because of His grace. Those who have received mercy are called to forgive others. Forgiveness does not mean pretending that harm was acceptable or ignoring safety and justice; it means releasing personal vengeance and seeking to respond in a way that honors God.
Pray honestly about the hurt and ask God to help you take a wise, truthful step toward forgiveness.
Father, thank You for Your mercy toward me. Help me forgive as You have forgiven me and act with truth and wisdom. Amen.
Bible reading: Matthew 28:18–20; 1 Peter 3:15
The good news of Jesus is meant to be shared. We can speak about Christ with gentleness, respect, and clarity, explaining what He has done and why we trust Him. Our testimony, conduct, and words should point people toward the gospel rather than toward ourselves.
Pray for one person and prepare a brief, honest explanation of why Jesus matters to you.
Lord, give me courage and compassion to speak about Jesus clearly and respectfully. Amen.
Bible reading: 1 John 1:9; Philippians 1:6
Christian growth does not mean we will never stumble. When we sin, we should neither excuse it nor despair. We confess our sin, turn to God’s grace, and take concrete steps toward obedience. God calls us to repentance and perseverance.
Read 1 John 1:9, confess your sin sincerely, and take one practical step toward change.
Lord, show me my failures, forgive me, and help me take concrete steps of obedience. Amen.

What happened when I received Christ as my personal Savior?
What is my new relationship with God?
Your decision to trust Christ as your personal Savior is the most important decision you could have made. However, you may not yet understand the true meaning of what has happened in your life as a result of that decision. The purpose of this lesson is to explain briefly what happened when you received Jesus and how your decision has positively affected your basic relationship with God.
The Bible says that God is the author of the physical, or human, family: “And God blessed them [Adam and Eve], and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply” [that is, have children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and so on] (Genesis 1:28).
We all enter the human family through physical birth, through our earthly father, who is also a descendant of Adam.
Genesis 5:3 shows that Adam’s descendants were born in his sinful likeness, according to his sinful image.
We all inherit the sinful nature of our father Adam. Romans 5:12 says that “by one man [Adam] sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.”
Romans 5:12 also establishes that, as a result of sin, you were sentenced to death.
Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death...”
First Corinthians 15:22 says, “For as in Adam [because of the sin of Adam and Eve] all die...”
John 1:12–13 says, “But as many as received him [those who received Christ into their hearts], to them gave he power to become the sons of God [for this reason, you now belong to God’s family], even to them that believe on his name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh [not through the physical union of a man and a woman], nor of the will of man, but of God [because this is a spiritual birth].”
You enter God’s family through spiritual birth, through your spiritual Father. John 3:3 says, “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
This new birth places you in God’s family in the same way that your physical birth places you in your earthly father’s family. You are now a child of God through spiritual birth.
As a result of your new birth, you have inherited God’s divine nature, and now you have eternal life.
John 6:47: “He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.” (Notice that the verb “hath” is in the present tense.)
John 3:36: “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life...” (Notice the present tense of “hath.”)
First John 5:12: “He that hath the Son hath life...” (Once again, notice the present tense of the verb “hath.”)
The Holy Spirit of God now lives within you. (Read 1 Corinthians 6:19.)
Second Corinthians 6:14–18 instructs believers to establish and maintain a distinction and separation between themselves and unbelievers—those who have not been saved.
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation.”
First John 2:1 says, “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.”
He relates to you as His child.
A good father loves his child and cares about him or her (1 Peter 5:7).
A good father protects his child (Matthew 18:6).
A good father provides for his child (Philippians 4:19).
A good father guides his child and teaches him or her (John 14:26; 16:13).
A good father helps his child (Psalm 46:1).
A good father encourages his child (Philippians 4:13).
A good father disciplines his child (Hebrews 12:6).
A good father feeds his child (Matthew 4:4).
A good father has a plan for his child (Romans 8:28–29).
A good earthly father will do the things that help his child grow and mature into a person who contributes positively to society. Your heavenly Father works in the same way, except that His ways are perfect.
Unlike earthly fathers, who sometimes make mistakes, God never makes a mistake in His dealings with His children.
Matthew 7:11 says, “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?”
The old, sinful physical nature, in the image of Adam.
The new, spiritual nature, perfect in the image of God.
The nature that controls you will be the one you feed more.
Read Colossians 3:5–10.
Read Ephesians 4:17–32.
Yes, because you still have your old sinful nature.
God will not cast you out of His family. If you sin, He will discipline you as a child. (Read Hebrews 12:5–11.)
Confess that sin to God, trust in the blood of Jesus Christ to cleanse you, and turn away from sin.
Read 1 John 1:6–10.
Read Proverbs 28:13.
Leer Colosenses 3:5-10.
Leer Efesios 4:17-32.
1. Leer 1Juan 1:-6-10.
Leer Proverbios 28:13.
Now that I am saved, is there any danger of losing my salvation?
Once a Christian has settled the question of salvation according to what the Bible teaches—that it is by grace, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ—it is important to understand how that decision has positively affected the believer’s entire life.
In the previous lesson, we learned that there are only two families on earth: the physical (or human) family and the spiritual (or family of God). We learned that we entered the human family simply by being born physically, and that we entered God’s family by choosing to receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior (John 1:12–13). In this second lesson, we will study the position of the new believer within God’s family and learn from the Bible that the Christian has assurance of salvation.
God will not cast you out of His family under any circumstances.
Read John 10:27–29.
Here Jesus clearly says that no one can cause you to lose your salvation, because God your Father is greater than all. Therefore, no one is able to snatch you out of His hand.
It is God’s gift (Ephesians 2:8–9).
No Christian can lose salvation through personal merit or demerit, because no Christian obtained it through personal merit in the first place.
Read Galatians 3:10 and James 2:10.
The Bible teaches here that if we could do a good work to earn or keep our salvation, we would lose it immediately.
Read Galatians 2:21.
This verse clearly says that if we could be justified by the law, then Christ died in vain.
No. Nothing can take your salvation away. The apostle Paul states in Romans 8:38–39:
“For I am persuaded [confident] that:”
1. Neither death: You will not lose your salvation when you die.
2. Nor life: You do not lose your salvation while you are alive.
3. Nor angels: No angel can take your salvation away.
4. Nor principalities: The devil cannot take your salvation away.
5. Nor powers: Demons cannot take it away either.
6. Nor things present: Nothing happening today can take it away.
7. Nor things to come: Nothing in the future can make you lose it.
8. Nor height: Nothing above you can take it away.
9. Nor depth: Nothing below you can take it away.
“...shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
(Read John 1:12–13 again.)
When you were born again, a record was also made—but in heaven.
(Read 1 John 5:11–13 again.)
Your spiritual birth certificate is sealed by the Holy Spirit.
(Read Ephesians 1:13 and 4:30.)
Even if you move far away from your father, even if you no longer know one another, change your names, or never see or think about one another, none of that can ever change the fact that you are his child and he is your father.
The same is true of you and your heavenly Father. You may even die, but you can never undo the event of your spiritual birth.
Your spiritual birth lasts for all eternity; not even God Himself can change the fact that it took place.
The First Epistle of John was written for this purpose. First John 5:13 says:
“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life...”
As a new Christian, read First John carefully. It will help you grow spiritually and understand that you already have eternal life—that is, assurance of salvation.
1. Your salvation is not based on your feelings. It is based on the truthfulness of God’s Word.
God knows that you are saved, even when you do not realize it yourself.
Titus 1:2 speaks of “the hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began.”
2. Simply believe what God has said.
First John 2:25 says, “And this is the promise that he [the Lord Himself] hath promised us, even eternal life.”
BIEN.
(Vuelve a leer Juan 1: 12–13).
I have received Christ and am saved. What should I do now?
All people who have received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior can and should take the next step: being baptized.
The doctrine of baptism is very enriching for Christians who study it seriously and give it the importance it deserves.
The purpose of this lesson is for Christians to understand clearly what the Bible teaches and what God intends through baptism.
Examples:
Read Matthew 3:13–17; Mark 1:9–11; Luke 3:21–22.
In verse 15, Jesus said to John the Baptist, “Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness.”
Submission and obedience are among the most important matters we must understand when studying baptism.
In the Bible, people obeyed the Lord through baptism after they had been saved—that is, after they had received Christ:
The Ethiopian eunuch (Acts 8:36–39).
The apostle Paul (Acts 9:18).
The Philippian jailer and his family, who also received Christ (Acts 16:25–33).
First, the word “baptism” comes from the Greek word baptizō, which means “to immerse,” “to plunge,” or “to put into.”
Second, baptism is the act of immersing a Christian in water by a Christian minister “in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost” (Matthew 28:19).
Baptism portrays the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.
In baptism, the believer symbolizes the death and burial of all his or her sins and the resurrection to new life with Christ.
In baptism, the believer identifies as a true disciple of the Lord Jesus.
In verse 36, the Ethiopian asks Philip, “What doth hinder me to be baptized?”
Philip immediately gives the condition for baptism in verse 37: “If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest.”
The eunuch’s answer was sufficient: “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”
Believe with all your heart that Jesus is the Son of God, the Savior of the world.
Confess with your mouth that He is your Lord—that is, receive Him into your heart.
Men and women (Acts 8:12).
Lydia and her household (Acts 16:14–15).
Crispus and his household (Acts 18:8).
In verses 38 and 39, both Philip and the Ethiopian went down into the water and came up out of the water.
“And Jesus, when he was baptized [or immersed], went up straightway out of the water...” (Matthew 3:16).
The only way to bury a dead person is to place the person completely under the ground.
In the same way, the biblical method of baptism is to place the person completely under the water: full immersion.
The Bible gives no example of a person being baptized by sprinkling, because a person cannot be buried by having soil sprinkled on his or her head.
Ephesians 2:8–9 says that we are saved by God’s grace through faith in Christ, without the need to perform good works; baptism is included among the works that do not earn salvation.
The Lord Jesus affirms this in what is commonly called the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19–20).
Baptism is part of the Great Commission and comes before the teaching that follows.
If a person is unwilling to obey the Lord in this first step (baptism), that person will also be unwilling to obey Him on many later occasions. (Read Matthew 3:13–15 again.)
Since baptism is a public confession of your faith in Jesus, ideally it should take place publicly, in the presence of the congregation and the other Christians who are members of the local church you attend.
You may be baptized in a river, because Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River (Matthew 3:13). You may be baptized in a pool or lake, as the Ethiopian was baptized beside water (Acts 8:36). You may also be baptized at a beach or in a place where there is “much water” (John 3:23).
The place of baptism is not what matters most. What matters is that you publicly testify to your identification with Jesus Christ.
Ejemplos:
(Lea Mateo 3:13-17, Marcos 1:9-11, Lucas 3:21-22).
(Vuelva a leer Mateo 3:13-15).
What are the functions and attributes of the Holy Spirit in my life?
The very moment you received Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit came to dwell in you forever.
Of the persons of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit is probably the person most misunderstood and ignored by many people.
The purpose of this lesson is to provide Christians with a basic understanding of what the Spirit of God does in their lives.
He came to dwell in you at the moment of salvation (when you received Jesus), and He came to make His home in you permanently.
Read carefully:
John 14:17; 1 Corinthians 6:19–20.
Galatians 4:6 and Ephesians 2:22.
1. In people who have not yet been saved, He convicts them of sin so that they may receive Christ.
2. In people who are saved (Christians), He convicts them of sin to keep them clean and to show them how to live for Jesus Christ.
3. It is important to understand the difference between “conviction” and “guilt.”
Conviction is when God shows us that something in our lives is wrong so that we can correct it (Isaiah 1:18).
Guilt, as this lesson describes it, is when the devil accuses us of being unworthy to receive God’s blessings (Revelation 12:10).
The Holy Spirit was active in creation (Genesis 1:2; Job 33:4).
In Jesus, you are now a new creation, born again through the power of the Holy Spirit (John 3:3–8).
Ephesians 1:13–14; 4:30.
Romans 8:16.
In Galatians 5:22–23, the apostle Paul calls this group of character qualities the fruit (singular) of the Holy Spirit.
The word “fruit” is singular because all these qualities are produced together as the result of an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit.
The source document provides this heading and refers to Galatians 5:22–23, but no readable list follows it in the source text.
If we carefully read Ephesians 5:18 and Colossians 3:16, we see that by studying God’s Word deeply, allowing it to remain in our minds, and praising the Lord sincerely with hymns and spiritual songs, the result in our lives will be fullness of the Spirit.
The more you fill your mind with God’s Word, the closer your relationship with the Holy Spirit will be.
1. Simply walk in the Spirit.
Romans 8:1; Galatians 5:16–18, 25.
Walking is a process of steady, consistent, and natural growth.
Allow God to control your life. Being filled with the Holy Spirit does not mean that you are receiving more of the Holy Spirit.
You received Him completely at the moment of your salvation. Rather, the Holy Spirit is gaining more and more of you.
Being controlled by the Holy Spirit does not happen overnight. It is a process of growth that continues throughout your life.
How important is the Bible in my life?
What distinguishes Christians from religious people in general is their affirmation that the Bible contains God’s supreme, absolute, and sufficient authority in written form.
The Bible is essential for Christians to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. The principles, standards, and instructions that should govern every area of a Christian’s life are found in the pages of the Bible, God’s holy Word.
The purpose of this lesson is to help Christians understand basic truths about the Bible, apply them in daily life, and allow biblical principles to guide every area of their walk with the Lord Jesus.
A. 1 Peter 1:23 teaches that a person is born again “through the word of God.” God’s Word is the instrument through which the new birth is brought about.
B. Ephesians 2:8 says that we are saved by grace through faith. Romans 10:17 explains that faith comes by hearing, and hearing through the word of God. James 1:21 says that the implanted Word can save our souls.
C. The summary of the gospel in 1 Corinthians 15:3–4 contains three parts:
D. You must believe what the Bible says about sin, your condition, and God’s plan of salvation.
Most modern products—cars, washing machines, televisions, and microwave ovens, for example—come with an instruction manual explaining how they should be operated. If someone ignores the instructions, the product may not work properly.
For Christians, the Bible is God’s “instruction manual.” God does not call a Christian to serve Him without giving clear instructions. To serve Him faithfully, the believer must follow God’s manual.
A. It equips you for service, so that the person of God may be complete and equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16–17). See also Ephesians 6:10–18.
B. It nourishes you. Scripture describes God’s Word as spiritual food (1 Timothy 4:6, 13; 2 Timothy 4:13; Job 23:12; Jeremiah 15:16). This food is pictured as milk (1 Peter 2:2), honey (Psalm 119:103; Proverbs 16:24; 1 Samuel 14:29), an apple (Proverbs 25:11), bread (Luke 4:4), water (Isaiah 55:10–11; Ephesians 5:26), solid food (Hebrews 5:14), and wheat (Psalm 78:24).
C. It keeps you clean so that you may please God (Psalm 119:9–11; John 15:3).
A. This lesson affirms that the Bible is God’s written Word without error and is therefore completely trustworthy. Peter calls the prophetic word “more sure” and says that we do well to pay attention to it as a lamp shining in a dark place (2 Peter 1:19).
Human experiences, emotions, and thoughts must be evaluated by an infallible standard greater than themselves: the Bible.
B. The universe was also created by God’s spoken word (Genesis 1:3; Psalm 33:6; Hebrews 11:3).
A. God’s Holy Spirit guides believers into truth (John 14:26; 16:13–15). God may use other resources—books, recordings, and preachers—to help you learn, but the Holy Spirit is the one who teaches you the truth.
B. Learn the Bible by comparing Scripture with Scripture. Depend on God’s Spirit to teach you rather than relying only on natural human understanding. Paul explains that believers have received the Spirit who is from God so that they may understand what God has freely given them. The natural person does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, because they are spiritually discerned (1 Corinthians 2:12–14).
The Bible contains the mind of God, the condition of humanity, the way of salvation, the condemnation of sinners, and the happiness of believers. Its doctrines are holy, its precepts binding, its histories true, and its decisions unchangeable.
Read it to become wise, believe it to be safe, and practice it to be holy. It contains light to guide you, food to sustain you, and comfort to cheer you. It is the traveler’s map, the pilgrim’s staff, the pilot’s compass, the warrior’s sword, and the Christian’s charter.
There paradise is restored, heaven is opened, and the gates of hell are revealed. Christ is its great theme, our good its design, and God’s glory its end. It should fill the memory, govern the mind and heart, and guide the feet.
Read it carefully, frequently, and prayerfully. It is a mine of wealth, a paradise of glory, and a river of pleasure. It is given to you in life, will be opened at judgment, and will be remembered forever. It involves the greatest responsibility, rewards the greatest labor, and condemns those who despise its holy contents.
A. Where should I begin reading? As a new believer, begin with passages about your new relationship with your heavenly Father. The Gospel of John, First John, Psalm 119, and Proverbs are good places to start.
B. What if I find something in the Bible that I do not understand? Do not become upset. God can reveal it in His time, when you are ready (John 16:12). Practice what you do understand. As you put into practice what you learn, God will teach you more of His Word.

How important is prayer in my life?
Someone once said that a Christian is only as strong as his or her prayer life. This is true because prayer is the precious and wonderful means of communicating with God.
When we read the Bible, God speaks to us. When we pray, we speak to God. A Christian cannot grow in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ without good communication.
A. Prayer is not an attempt to persuade or manipulate God into giving us personal benefits. We should pray while submitting to and remaining aligned with God’s divine will (Matthew 26:39–42).
B. Read Philippians 4:6–7. We should not be anxious, but should make our requests known to God through prayer and supplication with thanksgiving. God’s peace, which surpasses understanding, will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. A healthy prayer life produces peace of mind and heart.
C. Prayer draws the Christian closer to God, giving God the opportunity to demonstrate His power to provide for every need.
For this reason, it is important to thank God in everything, including our needs, problems, afflictions, and difficult moments (1 Thessalonians 5:18). We should develop a constant attitude of prayer so that our first response in a difficult moment is to turn to God.
A. Romans 8:26–27 says that we do not always know how or what to pray for. The Holy Spirit, who lives in us, intercedes for us.
B. Consider four important principles for prayer:
C. Maintain a strong spiritual relationship with the Lord Jesus. Certain things can hinder prayer:
Read 1 Timothy 2:1.
Write a specific prayer list to help you remember the matters for which you are praying. Without a list, your prayer life may become less steady, strong, consistent, and fruitful. Keep a list of answered prayers as well, to strengthen your faith in God’s power and faithfulness.
Does God answer all my prayers? Yes, but not always in the way you would like or at the time you would choose. God is your heavenly Father, and all His ways are perfect. In His infinite wisdom, His best answer may sometimes be “No” or “Not yet.” In such cases, trust Him.
Why is it important to pray for others? The apostle Paul continually prayed for other Christians (Romans 1:9), and he often asked them to pray for him (2 Thessalonians 3:1; Hebrews 13:18). Samuel said that ceasing to pray for the Lord’s people was a sin against God (1 Samuel 12:23).
The lesson tells of George Müller, a preacher in England who prayed for the salvation of five people for seventeen years. When he died, they had not all been saved. Two came to faith during his funeral, and the other three the following year.
Like the apostle Paul and George Müller, persist in intercession—continual prayer for believers and unbelievers. The full result of your prayers may never be known in this life.
Pecado no confesado (Salmo 66:18).
Mantener un espíritu no perdonador (Mateo 6:14-15).
Tener pleitos, discordias o amargura hacia su cónyuge (1 Pedro 3:7).
Orar y no pedir nada! (Santiago 4:2).
Y Dios responde a esa persona: “¿Cómo?”
.
Peticiones: INTERCEDER POR OTROS.
How can I know God’s will for my life?
A preacher once said that a successful person is someone who discovers what God wants him or her to do and then does it. A person’s true success is not measured by social position, bank account, influence, or fame. Success means doing what God wants us to do.
A. God’s will is spiritual, not physical. God’s will is never simply a defined set of rules, a geographic location, or a specific ministry.
B. Do not confuse God’s will with God’s plan for your life. God has a specific plan for each person. Only God can reveal all the details of that plan, because it is His plan for you, not for someone else.
A. God permits things that He does not necessarily prefer. He may do so to accomplish a greater purpose. For example, 1 Peter 5:10 says that God allows suffering in the lives of His children to perfect them, even though He does not delight in their suffering.
B. Human beings have free will.
A. God has revealed specific things He desires.
B. The will of God for your life can be summarized this way: God wills that people be conformed to the image of His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ (John 17:20–23; Romans 8:29; Ephesians 4:13–15; Colossians 1:28).
You will not find God’s will or plan outside His Word. You discover His will and plan as your mind is renewed (Romans 12:1–2). Renew your mind by having the same attitude that was in Christ Jesus (Philippians 2:5). Replace worldly thoughts with God’s thoughts by immersing yourself in His Word.
A. You must be in harmony with God’s will before He reveals His plan for you.
B. God is more interested in making you the kind of person He wants you to be than in all the “great works” you may do for Him. Become the person God wants you to be, and He will show you what to do.
Why doesn’t God reveal His plan for me right now?
This is illustrated by the familiar question asked of children: “What do you want to be when you grow up?” If every five-year-old were forced to follow that answer for the rest of life, twenty years later the world would be filled with nothing but firefighters, police officers, and nurses. As you grow spiritually, your interests, talents, and desires will also develop and may change.
What is the purpose of my commitment to the local church?
God has established three major institutions on earth: the family, civil government, and the local church. God has commissioned the local church to reach the lost and equip the saints. Therefore, God’s plan for a Christian is fulfilled most fully when that believer is connected to a local church.
The purpose of this lesson is to help Christians understand the great importance of the church in daily life.
A. The church is not a building. Christians worship God in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19).
B. The church is not merely a group of Christians under a denominational name. A local church is a body of men and women who have been saved, baptized, and called by God to serve in specific areas.
In 1 Corinthians 12:27, Paul writes to saved and baptized people: “You are the body of Christ.” Paul compares the church to the human body (1 Corinthians 12:14–17):
A. The first local church described in the Bible was organized in Jerusalem (Acts 2:41–47). The first Christians gathered for these purposes:
B. The local church’s most important priority is to build up the saints—to teach, equip, and strengthen them (Ephesians 4:11–16).
During your Christian life, you should grow through three broad stages:
These stages can be compared broadly to physical growth: childhood, youth, and maturity.
Be patient! This process takes time. Remain faithful to the institution God established: the local church.
How can I find the local church where God wants me to serve?
Discipulado I. Observación y aprendizaje.
Hechos 17:10-12.
¿Ministran las necesidades de la gente? Hechos 6:1; 20:35;
¿Mandan y sostienen misioneros? Hechos 13:1-3.
Versículos clave para memorizar:
Efesios 4:11-12, 1 Corintios 12:27, 2 Timoteo 2:2
What is my relationship with other Christians?
As we learned in Lesson 1, when you accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior, you became a member of God’s family. Spiritually speaking, you now have many brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus.
In the previous lesson (Lesson 8), we saw how the church is compared to the human body. In this lesson, we will study the special relationship you have with your spiritual family. This lesson is intended to give Christians a clear understanding of how the body of Christ functions as a united family.
A. Christians are your brothers and sisters in the Lord Jesus. Understand that those who are in Christ Jesus—that is, those who are saved—are your brothers and sisters, regardless of other factors. Read Romans 8:29; Romans 9:8; Hebrews 2:9–12; and 1 John 3:1–3.
B. Christians are your coworkers in the service they perform for Christ. Read 1 Corinthians 3:5–10.
A. We must pray for one another. Almost all of the apostle Paul’s letters begin with a prayer for the Christians to whom he is writing. See 1 Thessalonians 1:2–3 and 2 Timothy 1:3.
B. Christians must minister to one another.
C. We should always encourage and build one another up (1 Thessalonians 5:11).
D. We should serve one another (Matthew 20:25–28; Philippians 2:3–4).
“Fellowship” is a term commonly used by Christians to refer to gatherings for activities or times spent sharing common interests or projects. However, that is only a small part of fellowship. Fellowship does involve sharing, but true biblical fellowship goes far beyond a meal or a joint activity. It means sharing life with other believers through the person of our Lord Jesus Christ.
A. The essential elements of true biblical fellowship are not physical matters such as social standing, friendship, or common interests. They are personal and spiritual qualities:
B. Some areas of true Christian fellowship are:
C. Although doctrinal beliefs are vitally important, true biblical fellowship is not based on exact doctrinal agreement, but on the person of the Lord Jesus. We must learn to have personal fellowship with Christ before we can have good fellowship with other believers (1 John 1:3–7).
A. What should I do if another Christian offends me?
Unfortunately, this may happen as you spend time with your brothers and sisters in Christ. There will be times of offense, friction, and disagreement among fellow believers, just as there are in a physical family. When an issue is serious, the Bible gives a clear progression of principles for dealing with it:
Romanos 8:29; Romanos 9:8; Hebreos 2:9-12; 1 Juan 3:1-3.
(Leer 1 Corintios 3:5-10).
(1 Tesalonicenses 5:11).
(Mateo 20:25-28, Filipenses 2:3-4)
DE SER DE AMOR HACIA ELLOS (1 Pedro 4:8, 1 Juan 3:14-16).
SEA MUY PACIENTES CON ELLOS (Romanos 15:5-7, Colosenses 3:12).
SEA SENSIBLE A SUS NECESIDADES (Santiago 2:15-16, 1 Juan 3:17-18).
(Efesios 4:32, Colosenses 3:13).
DEBEMOS APRENDER a tener compañerismo CON CRISTO
What does stewardship mean, and what are my responsibilities in this area?
Stewardship is an extremely controversial subject within Christianity, largely because of strong pressure placed on God’s people to contribute to worthy causes. Perhaps it is one of the most misunderstood subjects among Christians in general.
This lesson concerns the Christian’s responsibility to manage both life and resources wisely.
If you have truly allowed God to take control of your life, He should also have control of your resources and possessions.
Your primary responsibility is to give through your local church. New Testament references to offerings occur in the context of a ministry of the local church. First Corinthians 16:1–3 is a key passage.
Of course, Christians are free to give to worthy causes outside the local church, and this may be a blessing to others from God. Nevertheless, the local church occupies a central place in God’s plan. Offerings given outside the church should not be taken from the tithe with which you support your local church. This principle also applies to your time, service, and possessions.
Consider some of the amounts mentioned in the Bible.
A. The tithe. In the Old Testament, the Jewish people were required by their religious law to give certain percentages. Although a tithe was one tenth of income, there were other tithes for various purposes, drawn from different portions of their income. Altogether, the demands on the Jewish people amounted to approximately 25–30 percent of their total income. Much of this money served a purpose similar to taxes in many countries today. In addition, the Jews gave offerings for other works of God.
B. New Testament principles for giving to missionary work are summarized in 2 Corinthians 9:7.
C. Other principles:
D. True giving, as described in the New Testament, goes beyond merely giving a tithe. Giving truly and wholeheartedly means placing your life and resources under the control of the Lord Jesus Christ. These principles apply to your time and service as well as to your money.
How can I be sure I am giving properly and that my money and time are being used as God wants?
Connect your giving—your time, service, and money—with the local church, the institution God established for this age. In most churches, a few men are entrusted with overseeing financial matters. If you have prayerfully sought God’s guidance when choosing your local church and have followed the principles in His Word, ... [The original sentence is incomplete at this point.]
If you have sufficient reason to doubt that the church’s resources are being used biblically, speak with the person responsible. If you do not receive a satisfactory answer, you may need to prayerfully consider joining another church. Read 2 Corinthians 8:20–21 carefully.
USTED LE PERTENECE A ÉL (1 Corintios 6:19-20).
DIOS DESEA QUE USTED PRESENTE SU CUERPO COMO SACRIFICIO VIVO,NO SOLO SU BOLSILLO (Romanos 12:1).
MISMOS, Y QUE SON FIELES AL SEÑOR JESUCRISTO Y A LA IGLESIA (Hechos 6:1; 1Timoteo 5: 16).
LÍDERES DE LA IGLESIA (2 Corintios 8:4;
Hechos 11:27-30)
What should my attitude be toward money and possessions?
One of the greatest temptations facing Christians in affluent countries is the materialism that surrounds them. Many people think success in life is measured by the amount of material wealth they possess. In reality, a person’s success is measured by how faithfully he or she is fulfilling God’s plan for life, as we studied in Lesson 7.
The Bible has much to say about our attitude toward material possessions. The purpose of this lesson is to determine, in light of biblical principles, how God wants us to handle money and possessions.
It is very important to understand this: Spirituality is measured neither by an abundance nor by a lack of material goods. Nowhere does the Bible specifically condemn someone simply for having money. Rather, God is concerned about your attitude.
The Bible does not say that money is the root of all evil. It says that “the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil” (1 Timothy 6:10).
Many biblical figures who were devoted to God were very wealthy. Solomon was the richest man in history, yet consider his conclusion after all his teaching (Ecclesiastes 12:13–14). Job was the richest man of his time (Job 1:3); when he lost his wealth, notice the attitude he maintained (Job 1:20–22). Even the Lord Jesus was accompanied by a group of wealthy Christian women who helped support His ministry (Luke 8:1–3; John 12:3).
A. First, be content with what you have. Contentment does not mean reluctantly accepting your lot in life. It means resting in satisfaction with God’s provision and recognizing what you have received as His blessing.
We should be content with our possessions (1 Timothy 6:8; Hebrews 13:5) and content in whatever situation we find ourselves, resting in the Lord Jesus Christ (Philippians 4:11). Notice that Paul wrote these words while in prison.
B. Remember that many things are more important than money, and money cannot buy them.
C. Never forget God when He blesses and prospers you (Deuteronomy 6:10–12; Proverbs 30:7–9; Revelation 3:17).
D. Understand that if God takes away all your wealth, it should not damage your relationship with Him (Job 1:20–22).
E. Do not envy people who have more wealth than you (Psalm 49:16–17; Exodus 20:17).
F. Stay away from schemes that promise to make you rich quickly (Proverbs 20:21; 28:22).
G. Protect yourself from the negative influence of advertising and the media. Make sure that your greatest desires are spiritual rather than material.
The Bible says that you should not worry about physical provisions (Matthew 6:25–34). It also says that if someone does not provide for his own family, he is worse than an unbeliever (1 Timothy 5:8).
The Bible says that the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil (1 Timothy 6:10). Scripture also says, “The worker deserves his wages” (1 Timothy 5:18). These statements are not contradictory; they are balanced principles for managing material possessions.
A. What will God provide for me?
The Bible promises that God will meet all your needs, but He has never promised to satisfy every whim or desire (Matthew 6:25–34; Philippians 4:19). Those needs may be material or spiritual.
You must learn to distinguish needs from desires. This can be difficult, especially in our society. Compare the biblical passages about needs (Mark 2:25; Hebrews 4:15–16; James 2:15–16) with those about desires (Psalm 23:1; Philippians 4:11; James 1:4).
(Lea Lucas 8:1-3 y Juan 12:3).
(Marcos 10:23-27; Proverbios 11:4, 28).
(Mateo 6:19-21, Colosenses 3:1-4).
CUANDO USTED PIENSA QUE SU RELACIÓN CON DIOS, O QUE LAS BENDICIONES DE DIOS SE MIDEN SÓLO POR LA CANTIDAD DE LAS POSESIONES MATERIALES
(Lucas 12:15, 1 Samuel 16:7).
(Proverbios 23:4, Eclesiastés 5:10-12).
Lea Filipenses 4:19 y Deuteronomio 8:11-18.
(Deuteronomio 6:10-12, Proverbios 30:7-9 Apocalipsis 3:17).
RIQUEZAS, ESO NO DEBERÍA PERJUDICAR LA RELACIÓN QUE USTED TIENE CON ÉL (Job 1:20-22).
(Salmo 49:16-17; Éxodo 20:17).
RICO EN POCO TIEMPO (Proverbios 20:21, 28:22).
How can I overcome sin in my life?
A preacher once said that when a Christian begins to struggle with sin, the spiritual battle can become so intense that the Second World War seems like a picnic. The struggle may not feel as strong for a new believer at first, but as the believer grows in faith, the battle becomes more intense.
As we saw in Lesson 1, when you received Christ you began to experience a struggle between two natures: the old self, in the image of Adam and possessing a sinful nature, and the new self in Christ Jesus, created in God’s image. The purpose of this lesson is to help you fight the sinful nature of the old self.
A. We all sin because we have inherited the sinful nature of Adam and Eve (Romans 5:12; 1 Corinthians 15:45–49).
B. We all sin because the old sinful nature draws and urges us toward sin (Romans 7:14–25; James 1:13–14).
C. We sin as a result of temptation in three main areas. Read 1 John 2:15–16. Christ was also tempted in these three areas, but without sin (Hebrews 4:15).
The Bible promises that God will provide a way of escape from temptation (1 Corinthians 10:13). That way involves keeping God’s Word (Psalm 119:9–11). Our Lord Jesus overcame three strong temptations from the devil by quoting three passages of Scripture (Matthew 4:4, 7, 10).
Trust God’s promises to cleanse you from sin and to help you in your struggles (2 Corinthians 7:1; Hebrews 4:15–16).
Walk each day in fellowship with and in the power of God’s Holy Spirit (Romans 8:1–11; Galatians 5:16–25).
A. How can I avoid being affected by the influences of this sinful world?
Do not take part in sinful activities. We should, of course, approach unbelievers in order to try to win them to Christ, but we must not participate in their sins (Ephesians 5:5–12).
Turn away from the ways of the world and follow the Lord Jesus (2 Corinthians 6:14–18; James 4:4–5).
You must not only separate yourself from the world; you must also set yourself apart to preach the gospel (Romans 1:1).
PECADO ES QUEBRANTAR LA LEY DE DIOS (1 Juan 3:4).
TODA INJUSTICIA QUE HACEMOS ES PECADO (1 Juan 5:17).
(Romanos 14:23).
(Romanos 5:12, 1 Corintios 15:45-49).
(Romanos 7:14-25, Santiago 1:13-14).
PADRE CASTIGA A SU HIJO (Hebreos 12:5-11).
MENTE (2 Corintios 10:5).
NO PROVEA (NO DÉ OCASIÓN) PARA LOS DESEOS DE LA CARNE (Romanos 13:14).
RECONOZCA QUE, EN CRISTO, USTED HA MUERTO AL PECADO. LOS MUERTOS NO PECAN (Romanos 6:6-14, Colosenses 3:1-10).
DIOS EN QUE EL PECADO ES PECADO (1 Corintios 11:31-32).
CONFIESE SU PECADO A DIOS (1 Juan 1:9).
“Since God has forgiven all my sins, can I do whatever I want?”
The New Testament is clear that Christians are no longer under the law as a way to please God; we are under His grace. Nevertheless, many people treat this freedom as an opportunity to sin, assuming they are free to do whatever they please.
The purpose of this lesson is to help Christians understand the freedoms they have in Christ and the boundaries they should establish for their conduct as children of God.
Each of us has freedom to make our own decisions (John 8:36; Romans 14:22; Titus 1:15).
You are completely secure in Christ (1 John 5:12). If you have truly trusted Jesus as your Savior, you will not go to hell. You have eternal life and will go to heaven.
You are not under the law (Romans 8:2; Galatians 3:24–25).
The freedom you have in Christ gives you freedom to do what is right without being restricted by the law, but it is not permission to sin or to do everything you want (Galatians 5:13).
Your freedom in Christ is not an opportunity to indulge your sinful nature (Romans 6:12–17).
Your freedom is meant to enable you to serve God (Romans 6:18–19; 1 Peter 2:16).
You are free to make your own decisions, but if you choose to sin, be aware of these three consequences:
God desires to receive glory and honor through your life. He wants you to be a vessel for honor, not dishonor. That choice, however, is yours (2 Timothy 2:20–21).
Your life will be a testimony for good or for evil, whether you intend it or not (Romans 14:7).
Do everything you can to keep a weaker Christian from stumbling in his or her faith in Christ (Romans 14:13–15; 1 Corinthians 8:9–13).
Avoid what appears good but is actually evil (Romans 14:16; 1 Thessalonians 5:22).
Maintain a good testimony before both Christians and unbelievers (Romans 14:18):
The purpose is to influence unbelievers for good, so that they may come to know and receive the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 11:22–24; 1 Corinthians 9:19–23).
There are many “questionable” areas when deciding whether to become involved in a particular activity. In such cases, ask yourself these questions:
How can I balance my freedoms with the needs of other people? Only through the power of the Holy Spirit as you walk with Him (2 Corinthians 3:517 (reference as printed in the source); Romans 7:6).
Key Bible passages to memorize: Romans 15:1; 1 Corinthians 10:31; Galatians 5:13.
Some people mistakenly teach:
PROPIAS DECISIONES (Juan 8:36, Romanos 14:22, Tito 1:15).
USTED ESTÁ COMPLETAMENTE SEGURO EN CRISTO (1 Juan 5:12).
USTED NO ESTÁ SUJETO POR NINGUNA LEY (Romanos 8:2, Gálatas 3:24-25).
LA LIBERTAD QUE USTED TIENE EN CRISTO, LE DA LIBERTAD DE HACER LO QUE ESTÁ BIEN, SIN RESTRICCIONES DE NINGUNA LEY, PERO NO COMO UN PERMISO PARA PECAR, O PARA HACER TODO LO QUE USTED QUIERA (Gálatas 5:13).
TROPIECE EN SU FE EN CRISTO (Romanos 14:13-15, 1 Corintios 8:9-13).
USTED SIEMPRE DEBE EVITAR TODO AQUELLO QUE PARECE BUENO, PERO QUE ES MALO (Romanos 14:16, 1 Tesalonicenses 5:22).
USTED DEBE MANTENER UN BUEN TESTIMONIO, FRENTE A LOS INCONVERSOS Y ANTE LOS CRISTIANOS (Romanos 14:18).
(1 Corintios 10:23, 24).
PEDIRLE A DIOS QUE ME BENDIGA? (Hechos 24:16 - 23, Colosenses 3:17).
SI EL SEÑOR JESUCRISTO REGRESARA EN ESTE MOMENTO, ¿ME AVERGONZARÍA? (1 Corintios 1:8, 1 Tesalonicenses 5:23).
(Romanos 14:13-15, 15:1-2).
JESUCRISTO COMO SU SALVADOR? (1 Corintios 10:31-33).
¿ME CONDENARÍA MI CONCIENCIA AL HACER ALGO PERVERSO? (1 Timoteo 1:5, Hebreos 13:18, 1 Pedro 3:16).

What should my attitude be toward my work and my employer?
The Bible is the final authority in every matter of life, so it should not surprise us that Scripture also teaches us how to conduct ourselves at work. We spend approximately one-third of our adult lives working. For healthy spiritual growth, we need to know how God wants us to behave in this area of responsibility. If you want to be an effective servant of God, you must serve Him in every area of life—including your work—not just during the other two-thirds of your time.
The purpose of this lesson is to help Christians become the kind of employees or employers God desires.
Ephesians 4:1 says that your calling is to serve Christ.
The Bible makes it clear that every Christian is an integral part of the body of Christ and that each person’s contribution is important (1 Corinthians 12:12–27). God expects every Christian to be committed to His work (Ephesians 4:11–16).
You should serve God at all times, not only when you attend church (2 Timothy 4:2; 1 Peter 3:15).
The main purpose of your secular work is to support your spiritual ministry.
As we saw in an earlier lesson, you should offer your resources for God’s service. Use all the resources you have wisely for God’s glory in these three areas: your family, the church, and those who are lost.
You should view your work as a valuable opportunity for ministry, not merely as a way to earn money.
For most Christians, coworkers are not Christians and are the unbelievers with whom they have the most regular contact. Your life may be the only genuine testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ they ever see.
You are a light representing the Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:14–16), and your life should reflect the Bible (2 Corinthians 3:2).
You will have the greatest influence on the people with whom you spend most of your time. Although strangers also provide opportunities to witness, people who see a good testimony in a Christian’s life are often easier to reach.
Work as though the Lord Jesus Christ Himself were your employer (Ephesians 6:5–8; Colossians 3:22–24).
Always respect and submit to your employer’s authority. No employer is always right, and at times you may disagree. Nevertheless, your response to that authority can become a valuable opportunity to give your employer a strong testimony of your faith in Jesus (Titus 2:9–10).
Joseph is an excellent biblical example of how to work (Genesis 39:1–5).
Mind your own business and do not adopt the idleness of other employees (1 Thessalonians 4:11; 2 Thessalonians 3:10–12).
Ask yourself these questions:
When a good opportunity for promotion or a job transfer arises, consider three principles:
Even in a leadership position, you must always maintain the attitude of a servant (Mark 10:42–45).
What if my work interferes with my spiritual life? Conflicts of priority may arise between church activities and your work schedule. You should not leave your job or miss work over minor conflicts, because your work is an opportunity for ministry. However, you must not use your job as an excuse to neglect your responsibilities to your church. Maintain balance.
When work responsibilities conflict with biblical principles, remain faithful to Jesus and set clear boundaries:
How should I handle persecution at work? Much persecution in our culture can result from a Christian’s own ignorance or lack of personal commitment to the Lord. If you feel persecuted at work, it may be because you are maintaining a proper Christian testimony—or because your behavior is improper (1 Peter 3:16–17). Expect some adversity from the world if you are genuinely faithful and serving the Lord Jesus (2 Timothy 3:12). Entrust that adversity to the Lord Jesus, who understands you (1 Peter 2:18–23).
What should I consider when looking for a job?

JESUCRISTO MISMO FUERA SU PATRÓN (Efesios 6:5-8, Colosenses
3:22-24).
Lea: Romanos 12:11, 1 Corintios 10:24, Proverbios 10:4, 18:9, 21:25, 22:29.
(Efesios 6:9, Colosenses 4:1).
NECESIDADES DE LOS QUE ME RODEAN? (Filipenses 2:2-3).
MANTENER LA ACTITUD DE SIERVO (Marcos 10:42-45).

How should I relate to the unbelieving world?
The Bible clearly teaches that the world system is opposed to God’s eternal purpose. God’s Word tells Christians to separate themselves from the world’s sinful system, but it also tells us to reach the lost people who live in the world without Christ.
The purpose of this lesson is to teach Christians how to live a balanced and steadfast life that influences people and wins them to Jesus without allowing the world to influence them negatively.
If you live for Christ, you should expect opposition from the world. You will face opposition because the Lord Jesus Christ experienced it (John 15:18–21). You will face opposition when you live for God; if you simply follow the world’s course and please worldly people, they will not oppose you (2 Timothy 3:12; 4:10).
Much of the opposition will come from people who know you well: friends, relatives, coworkers, and acquaintances (Matthew 10:35–36; Mark 6:4; John 1:11).
Opposition will also come from unbelievers in general. The two spiritual families have never been able to live in harmony and will not do so (Galatians 4:28–29).
Opposition can come from society as a whole. The nature and direction of the world system are contrary to God’s will. This opposition can be expressed subtly or aggressively through many forms of media—literature, newspapers, television, movies, radio, and the internet. Evaluate these things through God’s Word (James 4:4; 1 John 2:15–17).
Satan is the evil mind behind this opposition. He is the Christian’s adversary (1 Peter 5:8) and is at work in unbelievers (Ephesians 2:2).
They should know that you love God—not merely through your words, but through your life (1 Corinthians 8:3; 1 John 3:18).
Your lifestyle should clearly distinguish you from the world, and people should recognize your conduct as that of a genuine Christian (2 Corinthians 6:14–18; 1 Peter 2:9).
However, you should not be so different in physical appearance or clothing that you lose your influence (1 Peter 2:12). Unbelievers should see moderation in outward matters, not a self-righteous person who acts superior (1 Corinthians 9:22; Philippians 4:5).
They should see you as open and honest in everything (Romans 12:17; 2 Corinthians 8:21), as a living testimony to God’s grace (Philippians 2:14–15). Maintain a good testimony at all times and in every situation (Colossians 4:5–6; 1 Timothy 3:7).
What responsibilities do I have toward my government? Human government is one of three institutions established by God; the other two are the family and the church. This lesson states that governments are under the control of the evil one (Luke 4:5–6) and are therefore opposed to God. Nevertheless, Christians are instructed to submit to government authority (Romans 13:1–2).
If you do what is right, you have no reason to fear; God will honor you for doing what is right (Romans 13:3–5). Politics cannot transform the world, because human beings are fallen and sinful by nature. People need to be transformed from the inside out by receiving Christ in their hearts as Lord and Savior (Titus 2:14).
Give the government what is legally due to it (Matthew 17:24–27; 22:15–22; Romans 13:6–7), and submit to its laws (1 Peter 2:13–15).
Honor those in authority by praying for them and obeying them, even when they are bad, without participating in their evil. Entrust the matter to God and let Him deal with it. The lesson quotes 1 Peter 2:17–23: show proper respect to everyone, love the believers, fear God, and honor the ruler. Servants should submit respectfully not only to good and considerate masters but also to those who are harsh. It is commendable before God when someone suffers unjustly out of a sense of responsibility to Him. Christ suffered for us and left an example: He committed no sin and spoke no deceit; when insulted, He did not retaliate, and when He suffered, He made no threats, but entrusted Himself to the One who judges justly.
When the apostle Peter wrote these words, Nero was emperor, and the lesson describes him as perhaps the most sadistic and wicked ruler Rome had.

(Juan 15:18-21).
(Romanos 12:14, 20, 21).
(Mateo 5:44).
DIOS Y QUIERA SERVIRLE (Proverbios 13:20, 1 Corintios 15:33).
SUMÉRJASE EN LA PALABRA DE DIOS (Romanos 12:1-2).
PARA AFUERA, SINO CON SU VIDA (1 Corintios 8:3, 1 Juan 3:18).
(2 Corintios 6:14-18, 1 Pedro 2:9).
NO OBSTANTE, USTED NO DEBE SER TAN DIFERENTE EN SU ASPECTO FÍSICO, NI EN SU FORMA DE VESTIR, PARA QUE NO PIERDA SU INFLUENCIA (1 Pedro 2:12).
PERSONA ABIERTA Y HONESTA EN TODO (Romanos 12:17, 2 Corintios 8:21).
(Filipenses 2:14-15).
(Colosenses 4:5-6, 1 Timoteo 3:7).
(Hebreos 11:13, 1 Pedro 2:11).
(Juan 14:1-3, Efesios 2:6, Filipenses 3:20).
(Mateo 28:18-20, Hechos 1:8).

Is there a day of judgment for me as a Christian? If so, what must I give an account for?
The Bible says that God’s ways are not our ways. People look at outward, physical matters, while God looks at the attitude of the heart and works in the spiritual realm. To serve God effectively, you must focus on spiritual things rather than material things. Your life will have true meaning, purpose, and significance when you live and serve in the spiritual realm, focusing on eternal things.
The purpose of this lesson is to help Christians remain focused on eternity and remember that their greatest responsibility in this world is to worship and serve the Lord Jesus Christ.
A day will come when God judges every human being (Hebrews 9:27; Proverbs 29:26).
God has already judged the Christian’s sin at Calvary. When we place our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and receive Him as Savior, we need not fear condemnation for our sins, because Jesus Christ bore that judgment for us when He died on the cross (2 Corinthians 5:21; Galatians 3:13; 1 Peter 2:24).
Your judgment will be based on the service you have rendered to God from the day you received Christ as your Lord and Savior. The Bible calls this event the “Judgment Seat of Christ” (Romans 14:10; 2 Corinthians 5:10).
You will be judged for your work as a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, not for your sin (1 Corinthians 3:11–15).
Your work will be evaluated according to your motives and the quality of your works, not merely the quantity. God will test every work (1 Corinthians 3:13).
The attitude of the heart is more important than the works themselves. When the right attitudes are cultivated, right works will follow (Ephesians 6:6; 1 Thessalonians 2:4).
In 2 Corinthians 5:10 Paul speaks about the Judgment Seat of Christ; in verse 11 he refers to “the fear of the Lord.” Christians should never fear going to hell, but there are important things we should take seriously concerning the final judgment:
Remember that appearances can often be deceiving. True servants of God will be revealed in contrast with those who only appear to be servants of Christ before other people.
Make sure you are investing for heavenly rewards rather than earthly ones (Matthew 6:19–20; Colossians 3:1–4). Never be deceived by outward appearances, either in your own life or in the lives of others (Luke 16:15; 1 Corinthians 1:27–31).
The rewards available at the Judgment Seat of Christ are illustrated by the five crowns clearly mentioned in the New Testament:
Focusing on the return of the Lord Jesus Christ is one of the most important biblical doctrines for daily life. The lesson connects this focus with the following practical qualities:
Key Bible passages to memorize: Luke 16:15; 2 Corinthians 5:9–10; 1 John 2:28.
Some people mistakenly believe:
LLEGARÁ EL DÍA EN QUE DIOS JUZGARÁ A CADA UNO DE LOS SERES HUMANOS (Hebreos 9:27, Proverbios 29:26).
14:10, 2 Corintios 5:10).
SEÑOR JESUCRISTO, NO POR SU PECADO (1 Corintios 3:11-15).
LA CORONA INCORRUPTIBLE (1 Corintios 9:25), QUE SE DARÁ A LOS QUE SE ABSTIENEN DE PECAR, A LOS QUE SIEMPRE MANTIENEN DOMINIO PROPIO.
Amor y Paciencia.
(2 Tesalonicenses 3:5, Santiago 5:7-8).
Aliento y Paz.
Tesalonicenses 4:13-18, 2 Tesalonicenses 2:1-2).
Esperanza y Gozo. (1 Tesalonicenses 2:19).
Firmeza y Santidad.
Tesalonicenses 3:13, 1 Juan 3:1-3).
Confianza.
(Filipenses 1:6, 1 Juan 2:28).
Diligencia en el servicio.
(2 Timoteo 4:1-8).
Una vida recta. (Tito 2:11-14).
Fe en momentos de pruebas y aflicciones.
Pedro 1:5-7)
